From R15 000

Websites

Five built so far, four live. Static Astro on Cloud Run. From R15 000.

I build the whole site myself — colour system, layout, code, deployment. Static Astro, no WordPress, no page builder, no marketplace template. Five built so far, ranging from 8 pages to 30.

Good fit
A business with real work to show, existing brand assets, and a site that needs to be fast, accurate and left alone once it is live.
Not a fit
Not for you if you want a WordPress template, an admin panel to edit pages yourself, or a site built on stock photography of someone else's work.
01

Colour gets measured before it gets used

Brand colours arrive as hex codes, not as contrast ratios. So I measure first. Solar DNA's orange #FE9700 came in at 2.18:1 — unreadable as text — so it became a fill-only token and #AB6600 at 4.53:1 does the words. Wilton's peach #FFBC7D was body text on their old site at 1.65:1. It is now an urgency fill and nothing else.

CamelPhat runs two grounds, night #171B22 and sand #D9CDB8, each with separately measured ink, because the tan accent #C89B6E reads 6.59:1 on the dark and 1.60:1 on the light. Same hex, two different jobs.

02

Verified in a real browser, not by eye

Every build gets driven through headless Chrome at 320, 390, 768 and 1440 to catch overflow, and I pixel-sample the rendered background to get the real ratio instead of the one the stylesheet implies.

That is how CamelPhat's video hero got fixed. Measured against the worst frame of the clip, bright aluminium rails dropped the lead paragraph to 1.07:1. A brightness floor plus a scrim that changes axis at 1024px ended at 11.2:1 on the headline and 6.8:1 on the lead, on mobile.

03

Your words and your photographs

Veritas was built from their company profile and I reproduced it verbatim — 20 service names, 18 project-experience items, both directors' details, nothing reworded. Solar DNA's own photography was downloaded and self-hosted rather than swapped for stock.

Where stock is unavoidable I check every frame. Of CamelPhat's 25 stock images, four had to go: three carried tiled rawpixel watermarks, and one keyed "solar-farm-rows", live in two places, was a photograph of a Japanese torii gate.

Process

How it runs

  1. 01 Brand audit I take your hex codes off your live site or your logo files and measure each one for contrast before any design starts. Colours that fail as text become fills.
  2. 02 Fix the page list The pages are agreed before I build. Sites so far have run from 8 pages to 30.
  3. 03 Build Pages built in Astro around your content, your photos and the measured palette. No template underneath and nothing to log into.
  4. 04 Verify, then deploy Headless Chrome at four widths, pixel-sampled contrast on the rendered page, image-by-image check. Then it ships to Cloud Run behind nginx.
Questions

Straight answers

What does R15 000 actually cover?
R15 000 is where it starts, not an average. What it ends up at depends on the page list and how much already exists — copy, photos, logo artwork. I quote per job once I have seen those.
Can you rebuild the site I already have?
Yes. Two of the five builds were revamps. I pull the brand hex codes off your live site rather than guessing them from screenshots, and keep your own photography.
Is it WordPress?
No. It is static HTML generated by Astro and served by nginx from a container on Google Cloud Run. No plugins, no admin login.
How long does it take?
I will not put a number on that before I have seen the page list and know whether the copy and photos exist. Those two things change the answer more than anything else.
